Sarsaparilla (Sweet Indian)

AKA: Black Creeper, Tu Fu Ling

Calcium ~ Iron
Magnesium ~ Potassium ~ Zinc

Alterative ~ Aphrodisiac
Diaphoretic ~ Stimulant
Hormonal ~ Steroidal ~ Tonic

An excellent remedial or preventative herb for sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea, syphilis, female leuchorrea and herpes.

For menopause or premenstrual women it aids in alleviating depression and stimulates the production of testosterone and cortisone.

It is used in the Amazon and Mexico by Native Peoples for impotence and to improve virility.

This is confirmed by Ayurvedic practices that state it cleanses impurities from the gentital tract and increases blood flow.

Used both internally and externally for skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis because of its blood cleansing abilities.

It contains saponins that facilitate absorption of other herbs making it ideal to use in blends.

Works very well with other alteratives such as: Sassafras, Burdock, Dandelion, Red Clover & Licorice.

Caution: Should not be used during pregnancy or if using steroid therapy.

PLEASE NOTE:There are two varieties of sarsaparilla.
One comes from India (Hemidesmus indicus) & is a "Sweet" Sarsaparilla.
The second is commonly sourced from Mexico (Smilax medica) & is a bitter Sarsaparilla.

Both are used medicinally however the bitter Mexican is usually considered the most potent or preferred herb for medicinal usage.

The Sarsaparilla drink that was consumed many years ago was the Smilax with sweetner added.

Personally I use them together & enjoy the benefits of both taste & healing.*These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA & are not intended to diagnose, treat or cure disease.
