Birch Bark

Native Americans consumed this primarily in tea form. 

It is a very refreshing drink with the taste of wintergreen. 

One of the many ingredients in old time root beer.

Historically used internally to cleanses blood and in cases of rheumatism, dropsy, gout, worms, kidney and bladder stones.

Also for cholera, dysentery, diarrhea and intestinal ailments. 

Gargled for canker and mouth sores. 

Externally as a poultice for eczema, boils, skin eruptions and muscle pain. 

Contains an Anti-fungal known as Betulin which helps to preserve food.
