Bearberry Leaf

Medicinal Bearberry:

Astrigent, Antibacterial, Urinary Antiseptic


In Chinese medicine it is associated with the element of water and like the Native Americans it is used for kidney and bladder ailments.


It has also been used for diabetes, gonorrhea & hemorrhoids, spleen, liver and pancreas disorders.


Externally Native Americans, most notably the Cheyenne, use it as a poultice for sprains and swelling and as an antidote for poison ivy.

Increases a persons ability to help others heal.


Smoking Bearberry:

Mild Flavor - Good Filler


Used by Native Americans in many smoking blends called Kinnicks.


This is a good herb to use to take the edge off of bitter herbs like Bear Root, Calamus, Wormwood, Skullcap or Wild Opium.
